The most famous festival in Scandinavia and the oldest rock festival in Europe. The name is taken from the pretty local town x miles (xkm) from Copenhagen. Roskilde is historically one of the most important places in Denmark. During the middle ages it was one of the biggest and one of the most important cities in northern Europe.
The festival is set on a massive green field site which has plenty room for camping, there is a strong emphasis on crowd safety. It also boast a loyal clientele from Sweden, Norway, Germany, and Holland.
Numerous stages and tents featuring: metal, rock, reggae, hip hop, trip hop, electro pop, house, techno, world music, opera and fusions of these genres. Then there is a cinema field and cinema tent showing Hollywood movies, concert films, Danish short films. If your love is literature there is the Poetry Slam and other reading events. Art galleries and art workshops along with other group activities. Something for everybody.
