Glastonbury Festival is unique.
Set in a beautiful location - 900 acres in the Vale of Avalon, an area steeped in symbolism, mythology and religious traditions dating back many hundreds of years.
It is the largest green field Music and Performing Arts festival in the world.
Consisting of over 12 stages and tents and attracting the biggest acts in numerous genres of Music including Pop, Rock, Dance music, Jazz, World and Folk. The Arts include Fringe Theatre, Drama, Mime, Circus, Cinema, Poetry and all creative forms of Art and Design, including Painting, Sculpture and Textile Art.
You'll meet all kinds of people, of all ages, backgrounds, nationalities, lifestyles, faiths, musical tastes and concepts of fashion (or lack of it). The vibe is generally mellow and friendly, and if on the very odd occasion it isn't, there are plenty of vibe-doctors around to help
A large area of the Festival (the "green" area) is set aside for complementary and alternative medicine, demonstrations and displays of environmentally-friendly technologies and techniques.
Glastonbury Festival is a great place for children
This festival is children friendly and has plenty of activities for them.
Children aged 12 and under are admitted FREE as long as they are accompanying a ticket-holding adult. There is no limit on the number of kids per adult, within the discretion of the Gate staff. And once in the Festival site, all children’s' activities are free too !
In addition to all of this, the company actively pursues the objective of making a profit. And in so doing is able not only to make improvements to the site, but also to distribute large amounts of money to Greenpeace, Oxfam, Water Aid and other humanitarian causes which enhance the fabric of our society. In the running of the event the Festival deliberately employs the services of these organisations, increasing the amounts they can raise towards their objectives
